Karate And A Contest At Aunt Kathy's

Not much going on in our neck of the woods lately. Ms Thang has started going back to karate class again...it's been a few years since she last went. She's doing great and I'm surprised at how much she remembers. The photo below is from her class tonight...sorry about the picture quality...I couldn't get a decent photo no matter how much I tried. I'm going to have to keep working on that. lol *I smudged the faces since I didn't get permission for the kids' photos*

We don't have big plans for the July 4th holiday. No fireworks...A. too expensive and B. too dry and it's dangerous for fireworks here right now. There will be lots of dummies who don't care and will do their fireworks anyway...I feel for the firefighters who will be working because of them. We're just going to hang around at home and stay off the roads...you also have to remember all the idiots who drink and drive...not worth it. We did our grocery shopping today to avoid having to be out tomorrow. On that note....I hope you all have a fun but safe holiday whatever you have planned.

New Designs And Some Down Time

I am still alive but I have been one of those bad bloggers...so long since I did a "real" post. I've off for the past week so you would think I have oodles of free time....rofl....yeah right! My sister, brother-in-law and nephew went to the beach for a week. She has called almost every day to check in ....they're having an awesome time. Instead of taking it easy myself...it seems like there so much to do and so little time to do it. We've gotten some major "not so spring" cleaning clean done around here and I've been trying to get some new designs finished and posted. This is one my little down time projects. I had seen it before and mentally tagged it for my "to-do" list but just never got back around to it. It was the KAL for the Monthly Dishcloths group. I almost didn't finish it since I wrongly assumed it was a feather and fan cloth and didn't want to do one. Once I saw others posting about it, I had to jump in finish mine. I knitted mine on size 7 needles but the pattern calls for 8. Another one of my many "DUH" moments. It turned out too small...but still so cute. This is going to be a pattern I repeat many times over for Christmas presents. Every kitchen should have one. This is Sugar & Cream....I think it was Pretty Pastels...not really sure....sorry.

Thanks for coming back to visit even though I have been so bad about updating. I will certainly try not to be so quiet in the future. I finally feel like I may be getting somewhat caught up with all my projects. I still have two to knit up and double check. They are Christmas presents for a cousin. Since he has no interest whatsoever in reading my blog, I will post them as freebies.

Halloween Dishcloth & COTW

I finally finished the first of two Halloween designs I've been working on. I just posted it on my other site. http://dishingknitout.blogspot.com/ I hope to have the other one posted in a few days.

I have been having computer issues and haven't been able to function using my back-up. It just isn't as fast as the new one. Of course, since the new one isn't working, I have to say this back-up is now the better of the two. lol

I also got my COTW done. This one has taken me longer to finish than the others...not because it was hard (it wasn't)....just the rut this computer has gotten me into. This is the Lace Chain Panel cloth. It's very pretty but I don't particularly like lacy designs for my cloths. This one will probably go to someone else. I said that like it's something new...lol.

Cross your fingers for me that I get my computer fixed this week. I sure hope so. I do miss that contraption. I was told it didn't appear to be a big thing but that remains to be seen. I have a lot of blog hopping to do and I miss my blog hopping. I don't know what's going on with all my friends lately. I've been trying to keep up with everyone but this computer doesn't always co-operate. So just in case anyone is wondering....I haven't fallen off the face of the earth and I am SO NOT ignoring anyone. I miss checking in on all of you.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe July 4th! This was the finale of our fireworks show. We usually just stay home and shoot some fireworks with the kids. They always enjoy it.
