See...I Have Been Knitting...

This is the almost finished placemat. I still need to do the border for it. The border is going to be Hot Green and then I'm going to do more placemats with the green in place of the blue and use blue for border. I hope that made sense. :P

This is the little matching coaster. It also is waiting on a border. Half of these will be done like the placemats....switching the blue and green for a little variety.

And my Easy Cable Knit Hat is finished. I can't believe I knitted this hat in one day!! I've done cables before but only a few times and very small projects like dishcloths. This is a super easy cable pattern for beginning cable knitters. It's simple and easy to follow and knits up super fast!
The first photo is the true color. It was knitted in Bernat Softee Chunky in the color Too Purple.

This one looks more bluish but I had to show you the crown. It's my favorite thing about this pattern. I should have gone up a needle size or two since I am a tight knitter but I didn't. The result was a pretty small hat. It was pretty snug on Ms Thang's head. lol

I'm thinking I will make some hats for Christmas gifts. It's hard to find something for the men and they don't get too excited about getting dishcloths. :P I didn't think I could knit a hat so fast but now that I know I can....hats might be the way to go.

Anyone know of a nice cable hat knit in the round. I hate seams!!!
*off to hunt for patterns*

Hugs!

The placemat wouldn't load for me today, but the hat did, and it's pretty fancy lookin' knittin'. Good job! I'll be back later to see the other stuff. You can look these hat patterns up on Ravelry for the free patterns:

Love the placemat, and the hat. There are tons of cool cabled hat patterns for free if you look around ravelry. Also, Jared Flood (Brooklyntweed) has a very cool new cabled hat pattern that's worth checking out.

Love the design on the placemat....will be anxious to see it when you add green, and then switch to the green. The crown of the hat is awesome! It looks quite complicated. I'm also knitting and crocheting on the go it seems, so having things I need to really keep track of which row, stitch etc is hard. Like you though, I like making hats in the round and not having a seam.

Have a fabulous week,
Sandy

I love the place mat and the matching coaster. I'd like to know, how do you plan on adding the green border to each? I've got a knitted throw blanket I'd like to add to, but I have no idea how to do it, except by learning to crochet.
