Just a quick post since I only have a minute...
Is there anyone who isn't in Ravelry that would like an invite or do you know someone who is interested? I have some invites to send out if anyone wants one. If I understand correctly, there's no waiting to get in with the invite....I send it...you respond...you're in! It's an awesome site for knitters and crocheters. Don't be put off by the constant references to MySpace for knitters....there is so much more to Ravelry than just socializing.
If anyone is interested just leave me a comment or send me an email.....

There Is Evil In My Computer
This evil of which I speak (most of you probably already know it) is Ravelry. It sucks you in and you just get lost. It's so hard to get out of there. It's just awesome! Now, if this wasn't bad enough...today I gave in and did something else that I have been thinking about doing for a while now. I know it's spoken of highly and seems to be a good thing but I wasn't ready to make the change until now. Today, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox. The fastest, the safest....blah blah blah...don't they all say that? They tag-teamed me! Ravelry has this neat little button that you can click and drag onto your toolbar and when you're pattern surfing and come across something you like, you click this button (ravel it!) and it will locate that pattern in Ravelry if it's in their database. The catch...it works with Firefox and not Internet Explorer. Well, being one is doesn't want to be left out, I got Firefox. I gotta say.......I love it! My experience so far....it IS faster. The pages just pop. My IE has been giving me much grief lately and today I have had none of these issues...not once! Of course you can customize your browser which is where I have been most of this evening in my free time. EVIL...EVIL I TELL YOU! I'm going to have to rig up something that will give me an electric shock so I have to get up from the computer. lol
This is really cutting into my knitting time. I've got Christmas gifts sitting around unfinished and yarn that's giving me some really nasty looks. I have less than a month to get this stuff done. Anyone know a good computer exorcist?

Another Manly Soda Cozy And Some Rambling
I got a message from a blog reader about printing out the free patterns on my site. She was having touble getting them to copy and paste so she could print. If anyone has problems with them, feel free to email me or leave a comment anywhere on the blog (I will get the message) and I will be happy to email you a copy of the pattern/s you want. I have them all in Word doc. format saved on my computer.
I finished the baby hat but it was WAY too small. It has now found a home on my daughter's baby doll's head. lol The doll still only has one bootie though. I still need to make her another one. I will post a photo of my baby bootie set soon. (Did I already promise that already? lol) I also have to start another hat in a bigger size for the real baby. Hope everyone is well and happy. I've felt a little overwhelmed lately...trying to get it all together. My Ravelry guilt is about to get the best of me. I so need to get back on there and get my page done. So many people still waiting to get in and here I've been in for some time and have done NOTHING. I'm so ashamed. My name on Ravelry is "lilknitter" if anyone else is already on. I hope to see you all there eventually.

My Ballband
Finally got around to doing the ballband. It's almost done in the photo...just have to bind off and weave in the ends. Not the bright colors I've seen on other ballbands but I love earth tones so this is what I chose. Thanks, CeElle, for your inspiration and encouragement. Anyone who is hesitant to do this one, like I was, don't be afraid. It was easy to do and easy to memorize. After the first set of row, I didn't even have to look at the pattern anymore. Gotta love those! As for Ravelry, it's awesome. I've spent so much time looking at other knitter's work that I haven't even finished setting myself up yet. lol There's so much to see. I need to get a Flickr account set up for my photos. You have to have it to show your photos on the site.

OMG! IT'S HERE!
I just got my invitation to Ravelry! How awesome is that? Going to get set up and check it all out...hope I'm not up all night. lol
Waiting on Ravelry Invite
Okay so I'm trying to patiently wait for my invite but it's so hard to be patient. Not that I have a choice in the matter but I'm sure they get tired of me constantly looking up my place in line. It has become almost a daily ritual. I just checked for the day and.....YAY ME! This is what they said today...Found you!

It shouldn't be long now. I can't wait to get in and see what all the hype is about. The things I have heard make it sound wonderful. They say you can spend hours just looking at all the photos of other member's FOs. As if I need something else to become obsessed with...lol.
If you'd like to check your place in line, just click the photo above to go to the antsy page and find out where you are.
I also found out today that my cousin is expecting her first child. New babies are so exciting, especially since my baby is now 11 years old. :( I get to do some knitting for a baby. I have a blankie almost done already but it will be fun to try some little booties and a hat or two. I will have to browse around for some cute and easy patterns. I don't want anything that requires shaping...not ready to got there just yet.
Last night, I cast on my first ballband dishcloth. I have wanted to do one for a while but looking at the pattern just boggled my mind. For some reason I just couldn't figure out in my head how the color combinations came together....which color ends up where , etc. After a few rows, it suddenly clicked! I can't wait to finish so I can post a photo.
