I cast on yesterday for these slippers called Pocketbook Slippers by Knitwits Heaven (Allie & Lisa). They are so simple to do but not until I got them finished did I really understand....my blonde is a hindrance sometimes. lol This is one slipper after knitting but not seamed yet.
This is the slipper after it has been seamed up...this is where the name Pocketbook Slipper comes from. It really does look like a little pocketbook. I was pretty surprised at how much they grew when I put them on. I would have to adjust the size for myself...these were a little big for me.
This is how they look when you wear them. I wanted to try them out because I'm considering doing a pair for my aunt for Christmas. I need to find a different yarn however, this one is not a joy to knit with. This is Lion Brand Jiffy in Denim. It gets fuzzy while you knit and while it is warm, it doesn't really feel so nice to the touch. I think my aunt would like these very much but not in this yarn...gotta find something warm and soft.
The link for the pattern if you're interested is....

Diane has been making the slippers also.........I printed the pattern, I want to try to make some, but first I have to figure out how to increase and decrease.....Hmm...I guess I should search for a tutorial.
Have a great day..........
I've seen this slipper pattern before, I wondered how comfy it was :o)
I love that little slipper pattern.
That blue yarn is pretty, and jiffy is always a good thing.
Green tea..I know it's supposed to be healthy, and I wish I could drink something that was good for me, but I'm a Diet Rite & coffee junkie...no hope here..sigh.
Melanie...your slipper looks so cushie and warm. My slippers looks smaller. I used knitting worsted weight and size 7 needles. A couple of the pairs I think the yarn might have even been DK weight. It's good to know they work up in the heavier weight yarn so nicely. It make a bigger slipper, that's pretty much the difference. I love that pattern. Now you got me thinking...I wonder how double stranded worsted or DK weight would work?
Happy knitting :)
Definitely on my to-do list! Your's are very nice!
