It's Monday....

Not a lot of knitting going on right now...it's Monday and it's been a long day. I have gotten new designs charted and a few already test knitted. Thanks, Shirl! I'm trying to get enough designs done so that we have the rest of the year's KALs all set up and ready to go. Then I can focus on my knitting without worrying about the next month's KAL. I hate pressure. lol

I had Ms Thang's IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meeting today. (For any of you who don't already know...she is deaf and has a cochlear implant.) This normally only takes about 30 minutes tops but today was an hour long meeting. For the past 3 years, she has been in a Learning Disabled/Self-Contained classroom and she has really done well and made so much progress. Since she's going to middle school next year...we thought this would be a good time to mainstream her back into a regular classroom setting again. She will have accommodations to suit her needs and extra support available for her when and where it's needed. I am so proud of her and really excited about next year but terrified all at the same time. It's going to be a very hard transition...adjusting to a new school environment on top of the mainstreaming but she's so smart and adapts really well. I can't believe she's growing up so fast...MAN! it's hard to let them go!! It's time for a chocolate cake to celebrate her success!!

I really need to try to get a better photo on a sunny day. These fields are everywhere...not sure what it is but it's such a shock when you "round" the curve and suddenly you see these bright yellow fields pop up out of nowhere. When the sun is shining...it's gorgeous!! I hope they don't disappear before I get more shots.

I'm off to get some rest and re-charge my camera batteries....just in case.

Hugs!

I love the photo....here if you see a field of yellow, it is more than likely a field not planted and taken over by dandelions...but I do know there is a CROP that looks like that, and for th elife of me, I can not remember what it is...figures...
Brooke just had her IEP 3 weeks ago...and I was NOT pleased...they basically did what they wanted, BUT I will be talking to someone, becuuse she is suppose to get 30 minutes 2 days a week of speech, and she may get 10 minutes 2 days if she is lucky enough for the therapist to even show up....
THANK YOU...very much for the comments on my blog....I should not let her get to me, but she seems to be finding it hard to stay out of my business since I have broken off the friendship of 35 years.....BUT I did what I did for myself and my family and I am SICK of her negative comments about my husband and family....I don't need it...if you want I can give you her blog address....she thinks I am stupid...ha ha...
Have a great night and can't wait for the next KAL

Ah, Melanie. Another parent entirely too familiar with the IEP process. God Love ya and bless ya, and your daughter too.

Hey, how realistic was the Hallmark movie last night? Just another one of those things that go Hummmmm.

I bet the bank employees like all the other colored lollipops. The bandits!

Beautiful yellow fields. What a great *pop* as you go around the bend.

I hear ya on being terrified. Take a deep breath. You'll know what to do when the time is right. Look at how far she's already come. You love her, you fight for her. It'll all be good.

Well done my darling Sunkisses, I am so proud of you. Mel, if you love them, you let them go, they need to test their wings and you are there to catch them when they stumble!!! Just stay on your knees, then all will go well.
Love you guys so much and love to Ouma.

How wonderful that your daughter will be able to mainstream again! It's hard to watch them grow up. My baby turned 20 in March. She's still my baby girl and her 36 yr old brother is still my baby boy! Somethings never change!

The picture of the field is beautiful. Down here there are beautiful pink and purple flowers growning along the roads with a few black eyed susans thrown around. I think they wait to mow until their done blomming. It's just beautiful.

Glad to hear that you're off the prednisone. I'll be glad when I am! Poor AK is in for some reactions! Wonder which ones she'll have? LOL

I was always worried when my boys went to middle school...but they loved it...much better than elementary. Then of course I worried when they went to high school. Again,,,that was better than middle. I think they enjoy the change and he challenge. Your daughter will do just fine I'm sure :)
