I hope everyone got the chance to see the lunar eclipse last night. I made many pathetic attempts to take a photo. I'm sharing with you all a couple of the better ones. This is about as close-up as I could get and still be able to tell what it was. It really looked better with the naked eye but the camera just doesn't like to shoot the moon. lol
I don't know how or why it's orange in this photo but I thought it looked kinda cool. I got some tips from a friend and hopefully in the future I might some decent moon photos. I'll keep trying.
Ms Thang wore her socks to school today and showed them off to her friends, her interpreter and her teachers. She tells me her interpreter wants me to teach her how to knit. I don't know if this is true or not, the awesome interpreter hasn't mentioned it to me.
Almost finished with the other half of duckie #2's body....then on to the wings, beak and feet. Hopefully, he will finished soon.
AND.....I am sooooo excited!!! I learned to do the long tail cast on today!!!!!!!! YAY ME!!! It wasn't really hard at all. Man, the things I fear and then end up feeling so "DUH". lol I'm working on casting on my second pair of socks...hope socks #2 go as well or better then the first ones.
Hugs!

cool pics! i wanted to take some, but don't have a tripod to hold the camera steady for the night shots.
the orange tint is supposed to be there. something about how there havent' been something or other to block light & make it a dark eclipse. (google lunar eclipse orange & you'll find articles).
and congrats on the socks!
I tell you, I stood outside and FROZE my butt off taking pictures, all 65, and out of them I got maybe 10 that are decent....I would hold my breath and lean up against the house so that my breath would not show and I would be steady. I also found that if I used the night setting they did not turn out as good as using the auto setting....
We watched it, it was awesome!!!! I am so glad she loves those socks and you learned the long tail YEAH!!!!!
Hugs!!!!
I learned the long tail cast on last year and I LOVE IT, in fact it's basically the only one I use now. Even on my socks.
I wanted to take pictures of the eclipse too but my camera is so bad just taking pictures of dishcloths, I an only imagine what the moon would have looked like.
You're so good at taking pictures. I was looking at the eclipse but it never even crossed my mind to try and take a picture :)
I know just what you mean about procrastinating about trying something new...most of the time it is much easier than what you thought.
Long tail cast on is a really good one to know. Good luck with your second pair of socks!
happy knitting :)
I missed the eclipse, so I'm glad you took some shots of it!
It's so wonderful that your socks are so well appreciated!
Nice pics. I missed it in real life......but hey, you did a great job capturing it.
